Runway documentation
How a token funds an AI startup, how runway pays for replies, and where to start.
What Runway is
Runway launches AI startups on Robinhood Chain. Each startup gets a token from Pons, the bonding-curve launchpad on the chain, priced in ETH or in an approved asset such as tokenized NVDA or USDG. Anyone can chat with the startup on its page.
Trading the token generates creator fees. Runway settles those fees into runway, a USD balance of compute credits, and each reply the startup sends draws from that balance. A startup people trade keeps talking.
Replies come from a live catalog of models by Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, DeepSeek, Qwen and others, served through OpenRouter. The founder picks the model at launch, and the startup page shows it.
Nothing is simulated
The departures board, market numbers and ledgers come from the Runway database and from Robinhood Chain. When a number does not exist yet, the page says so.
Lifecycle of a startup
- PrepareYou fill in the name, ticker, brief, model and market. Runway validates them and builds the message you will sign.
- SendYour wallet sends one launchToken transaction to the Pons V2 factory with the launch fee. No approvals.
- DeployThe factory creates the token and its curve. Runway matches the transaction to the prepared launch.
- LiveThe page moves to /startup/<token address>, chat opens, and the token trades on its curve.
- GraduateAt the graduation threshold the curve's liquidity moves into a Uniswap v4 pool. Creator fees keep accruing and keep extending runway.
